Electrifying Service

Kakes for Kids

August 2, 2014 - On August 2nd, over 30 employees from Silmar Electronics transformed a cottage that will provide care for 12 infants and toddlers in foster care. Silmar Electronics is one of the largest independent distributors of Security, Fire, CCTV, Access Control, Commercial & Residential Sound Systems and A/V systems. Their involvement in this service project was a clear representation of the social responsibility and exceptional work ethic to which Silmar employees are upheld. The group completely transformed the home into a space that would accommodate the anticipated tender-aged population. From building cribs and toddler beds to creating infant tummy-time play spaces, every volunteer lovingly prepared the home as if they were welcoming their own first born from the hospital.

We are truly grateful for the support of Silmar Electronics and we are hopeful that their heart’s desire to impact children will continue to grow beyond this experience. Service Projects are always available to corporations, local businesses, churches, and civic groups. If you are interested in impacting the life of a child while boosting workplace volunteering or encouraging team building, consider completing a service project at His House Children’s Home.

Silmar employee testimonials:

“My experience to share and help in this cause made me very happy and I'm ready to continue helping in any upcoming event!” -Carlos Naranjo, Int. Sales Representative

“I’m proud of all who work at Silmar but to see those who came and contributed time on Saturday, was special. During the week we get up early to come to work and to do so again on a Saturday without need, was particularly moving. As you saw, there is a great need to do what we did, and those children are today enjoying your efforts, thank you. -Jorge Smith, President
