His City at His House 2014

On Saturday April 3, a group of caring friends came to His House Children’s Home with the purpose of surrounding His Kids with the love of Christ. As they served our children delicious BBQ hot dogs, chips and amazing fruit juice and lemonade, the joy of receiving a smile back made all the difference to the team and children of His City on a Hill Ministries. The group was accompanied by a special guest, “Pipo the clown,” who added much laughter and a reassuring word of Christ to the afternoon with his enthusiastic and fun personality.

The team joined our kids and counselors in fun activities like soccer and football. They made a big impact on the kids by simply giving their time, love and patience in everything they did. It was a great opportunity to spend time together as the family of Christ.

At the end of the day, no one wanted to leave; His Kids felt loved and cared for, and the hearts of His City on a Hill team were full of gratitude and joy to have been able to bring hope and fun memories to the lives of His Kids.

Here is what some of our volunteers had to say:

"Everyone was touched in such a special way to have played a part in these children’s lives. We are committed to doing what we can to reflect God’s love and help make their lives better." -Pastor Mike Cruz

"It is very humbling, glad I got the opportunity, you live your life not realizing what goes on around you. Glad we had the opportunity to be here and make a difference and bring a smile." -Diva Fresco

"Helps me remind myself that there is something bigger than me and to give without expecting anything in return, it is very gratifying." -Joel Martinez

"It’s an honor and a blessing to be a part of this and share with the children. Just to see the smiles on their faces and just to talk to them and some of them to share the word of God with." -Melis Villalobos
