Pillar of Hope- Founders Breakfast 2014

Open House 2013 at His House

On Saturday, February 22nd of this year, more than 40 special guests attended the first Pillars of Hope Founders Breakfast as part of our year-long 25th Anniversary Celebration. It was hosted by our Founder and Ministry Director, Jean Caceres-Gonzalez, with guests enjoying a delicious breakfast and beautiful musical presentation by Sandra Curless.

As part of our 25th year anniversary, Jean included this event to honor the first individuals who believed in the mission—and responded to the Lord’s call—by supporting the vision for His House from the very beginning.
Joy filled the room as Jean shared many fond memories of the ministry’s early days. She encouraged our guests to ponder all that the Lord has done—and continues to do—as His House celebrates 25 years of service in His name. Since its founding, His House has served over 8,000 children and has found 245 “forever families” for His kids.

One of the many beautiful stories Jean shared was about “Baby Joy,” who later became Taylor Joy. Baby Joy was the first newborn baby Jean received right out of the hospital. She lived a very happy first year of life under Jean’s love and care until God found her a beautiful home with the Guerrier family. Joy is now 20 years old and was amazed to hear the touching stories of her time at His House.

Mario Gonzalez (Papi Mario) also inspired our guests by sharing how faithfully the Lord has answered prayer in providing for the ministry of His House. His provision has extended from small things, such as refrigerators for the kids’ homes, to larger items like more buildings on campus—and everything in between. Throughout the years, God has constantly challenged the His House family to fight against the unbelief that tells us prayer doesn’t do anything. Mario reminded the gathering that God wants to hear from us and we are to pray without ceasing. We are to shake away unbelief and say with total faith and confidence: I do not see, but I know and I believe.

The overarching message conveyed during our Pillars of Hope Founders Breakfast was one of hope, continuity and joyful expectation. It was a fitting reminder that the power of prayer will never come back unanswered. God will provide!
