Our Vision :: Core Values
His House Children's Home is committed to breaking the cycle of abuse while meeting the emotional, medical, educational and social needs of the whole child. His House Children’s Home addresses these needs so children excel to the best of their abilities and receive all social and health opportunities that are available to every child.
The organization provides services ranging from residential services, case-management, an in-house counseling center, The His House Academy, after-school tutoring, weekly athletic, art and dance programs, in addition to foster and adoption placement. All programs are specifically designed and targeted to meet the needs of the whole child.
The agency continues to expand its services as a result of rollout of the foster care services into community-based care.
As a result of privatization of child welfare into community-based care, His House continues to experience a season of growth. By June of 2005 the organization was responsible for residential care and full case management for over 250 children. This unprecedented growth affords His House the opportunity to in find homes for children in crisis and those waiting to be adopted in South Florida.
Today, the organization is counted within the top eight providers for at-risk children in Dade and Monroe County, serving over 55 children in the residential program and 230 children in foster care.
The agency is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families, contracted by Our Kids Inc. and Child-Net, Inc. in Broward as a residential program and child-placement agency. As such, the organization is a frontline provider of residential services when an abused child comes into care. Most recently, His House has been recognized and accredited by the national Council on Accreditation (COA).
