May 16, 2008 - DCS-His House Academy has recently promoted 8 children to the next grade level!  At His House this is very special because the average foster child falls three grade levels behind.  His House Academy went from having a public school alternative education to what is now DCS His House Academy, a private and faith-based education.  His House also provides a tutoring program for all of the children who need extra help in their school work.

Guests and staff were delighted and proud as they admired the graduates walking confidently down the chapel isle.  After all had finished walking and were seated, the children gave an exciting dance performance choreographed by their teacher, Mr. Jayme Miller. 

Keynote Speaker Dr. Dan Burrell, Dade Christian School’s new vice president, continued the ceremony as he shared a beautiful and inspiriting story about trusting in God.  The distribution of the students’ certificates, awards and diplomas then followed.  As one of the kids went to the front of the stage to receive his Essay Award and Presidential Academic Award, his twin brother in the audience couldn’t help but to run up there to hug him.  This was a very special moment as the crowd was deeply moved.

After the program snacks and appetizers followed, where all of the children went around with big smiles on their faces showing everyone their medals and awards.
