Hosted by Channel 7 News Co-Anchor, Diana Diaz, over 400 guests arrived to benefit the lives of the community’s children in crisis. Guests were welcomed into the lavish ballrooms of the Ritz Carlton hotel, where they were able to bid on over 100 luxurious silent auction items of which proceeds will directly impact the lives of children in need. These items included autographed sports memorabilia, exclusive art, fine dining, cruises, professional services, an entire collection of exquisite jewelry by Santayana. In addition to the silent auction items, the guests also received a special treat of being able to watch art in the making. The artist, Anastasia the Great, created the event’s signature piece before all of the guests during the silent auction. The artwork was later sold during a live auction and raised thousands of dollars towards our cause.
After months of practice, and under the direction of Sandra Curless, the children from our agency shared their musical talent by playing an acoustic song in appreciation of our Founder and Executive Director, Jean Cáceres-Gonzalez. Our guests were also touched by the dance performances by Hot Spot Dance Studios.
The children also sang and dedicated a song to our Executive Director in honor of her being the recipient of the 2010 David Lawrence Jr. Champion for Children Award, awarded by The Children’s Trust.
“Our 7th Annual Charity Gala is the most significant fundraising event of the year. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with new friends and encourage community residents to become involved as we expand the resources and services for at-risk children,” said His House Founder and Executive Director Jean Cáceres-Gonzalez.
