During the cocktail hour, participants had the opportunity to bid on over 100 silent auction items, which included Montica fine jewelry, vacation getaways, autographed sports memorabilia, fine dining, fine art, beauty products and more.  A live silent auction also took place later that evening and two winners went home with an African safari trip by Ezulwini Game Lodges and another guest won a voyage to any destination with the prestigious Azamara Club Cruises.  Proceeds of the auctions will go to benefit children from newborn to 17 residing at His House Children’s Home. 

Among the many specials guests that night, Commissioner Steve Bovo was present to join in the festivities. Another special guest was Senator Rene Garcia who surprised His House Founder Jean Caceres-Gonzalez with a proclamation to commemorate her service to the community. The performers from Arthur Murray Studios blew the crowd away with a magnificent dance show.  The children of His House followed with a charming ballroom performance they had been dutifully rehearsing for months. 

Guests were especially moved when Miguel “Edito” Fernandez, former His House foster child who was adopted, presented Caceres-Gonzalez with a beautiful painting he had created many years ago that was sold as a silent auction piece at one of the first His House galas.  It had been retrieved from the original bidder who graciously donated it back to His House for this purpose. Fernandez, now 18 years old, is currently working at His House as a resident counselor in one of the cottages where he too can impact the lives of children who stand where he stood many years ago.
