Over 40 volunteers painted, cleaned and organized two of our homes. They cleaned windows, added vibrant accessories to the kids’ rooms, and even reorganized the kitchens. Once 1 p.m. rolled around it was difficult to get all the volunteers to have lunch because of how focused they were on making these homes as beautiful as possible. One volunteer noted, “This is a great way to contribute to the happiness of many kids.” After lunch the volunteers joined the children in our UAC program for a fun game of soccer and an ice cream social. Overall, the experience was rewarding for both the children and the volunteers, as they enjoyed a fantastic and breezy afternoon.  It was great to see them connecting with people who care about they are going through.
