Alcatel-Lucent Celebrated International
Day of Caring at His House!
Early Friday morning on July 30, close to 60 team members from Alcatel-Lucent arrived to transform a cottage into a beautiful home for twelve adolescent boys in the Unaccompanied Alien Children program. Teams of volunteers set out to clean, organize, and decorate. After a day of hard work, company President, Osvaldo Di Campli, alongside his family and team members, honored the project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to reveal to the teen boys their new home.
Alcatel Lucent Volunteer Testimonies:
With great anticipation and big smiles on their faces, the boys ran into the house to see their new bedrooms. One of them was so moved he cried because he couldn’t believe that people could care so much. As he expressed his appreciation, employees too could not hold their tears back as they experienced the fulfillment of their giving.
Following the makeover, the boys challenged our friends from Alcatel-Lucent to a soccer tournament and the project was sealed with a delicious ice cream sundae social.
His House is very grateful to all of the Alcatel-Lucent volunteers who gave of their time and talents to improve the quality of life for children in our care. Thank you for making this special project possible.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Alcatel-Lucent executives that joined our efforts:
