They dug their hands into the soil, planting gorgeous new flowers and adding some much needed improvement to our home. During lunch, the volunteers were able to spend time with the children at our His House Academy. They shared a delicious meal catered by Chick-fil-A and shared how happy it made them to be a part of this amazing project, “It is a good feeling to help out with these kids. It’s a nice change of pace from my regular day to day job. I would definitely love to come again and help out some more.” stated Joe Corbisiero.
Once lunch was over, the volunteers and the kids both enjoyed an ice cold delight as they partook in an ice cream social. Needless to say, the children loved the whole experience, especially the treat of having an untraditional lunch, “This is the most delicious lunch ever. I love this food. I am so excited to eat ice cream! We never get ice cream!” stated Journey, 7. Overall, the project proved to be a success leaving our campus shinning brightly after the hard work of those volunteers from AIMCO.
We would like to thank every volunteer for their time and support. It is through your hard work that we are able to provide beautiful homes for these children and while continuing to heal their little hearts.
