Sept. 5, 2008- Are you ready for
some . . . shopping? Jason Taylor sure is! The reigning
NFL Man of the Year, Dancing with the Stars runner-up and Washington Redskins
All-Pro Defensive End, recently hosted more than 100 children at his "Cool
Gear for the School Year" back-to-school shopping programs as part of his
continued community efforts through the Jason Taylor Foundation.
"Cool Gear" kicked off on Friday, September 5, at the Old Navy in
Davie, Fla. for the fourth consecutive year as 60 deserving kids from the Urban
League's of Greater Miami and Broward Counties, as well as His House Children's
Home, each received $300 to purchase school clothes. :: Read more below

Taylor created
"Cool Gear for the School Year" to help build self-esteem in young
people and eliminate an unnecessary distraction, allowing the children to focus
on their studies and not their attire while at school. Prior to shopping,
the Old Navy stores in each city hosted a party for the kids with food and
dancing. Florida Marlins own DJ M. Dot entertained the kids in South Florida while "The Q.I.C." DJ Quicksilver
spun for the group in Virginia.
The Florida "Cool Gear" event truly proved to be a homecoming for
Jason as he was assisted by current Miami Dolphin players Ronnie Brown,
Channing Crowder, Will Allen, Akin Ayodele, Vonnie Holliday, Greg Camarillo,
John Denney and Brandon Fields, as well as former Dolphins Tim Bowens, John
Offerdahl, Oronde Gadsden, Kenny Mixon, Boomer Grigsby and others - and a host
of Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders. Also participating in the event were
radio personalities DJ Laz, Footy and Joe Rose, MMA Superstar Urijah Faber and
former NFL and MLB players KiJana Carter and Charles Johnson and several Miami
Heat Dancers.
His House is thankful to the Jason Taylor Foundation for their
continuous support.
